Coalition for monitoring child rights in Serbia

There were four regular annual meetings of the Coalition for the monitoring child rights in Serbia. During the year, the Coalition has prepared a contribution to the UPR (Universal Periodic Review is a unique process which involves a review of the human rights records of all UN Member States), which was submitted to the Human Rights Council of the United Nations.

In 2012 the Coalition also carried out and the advocacy actions regarding the right of the child to access to education and free transport for all children. Children from 5 children/youth groups active in the Coalition member organisations were involved in the process of defining the Draft Law on the Child Rights, and also conducted research and produced a report on the state of child rights in Serbia 2008-2012. In 2012 the Coalition for monitoring Child Rights in Serbia gave support to the Child Rights Centre in the process of drafting the Report on General Measures of Implementation of child rights in Serbia. In 2012 the Coalition members have strengthened their cooperation by signing a Partnership agreement.
