Roundtable of the Juvenile Justice Council held on 24 June 2019

With the support of the UNICEF Office in Serbia, together with the Juvenile Justice Council, today we organized a roundtable “Improvement of the rights and best interests of juvenile offenders with special focus on better cooperation of judicial, interior, social welfare and health care systems”.

This event focused on improvement of assessment of the best interests of the child in different phases of criminal proceedings and improvement of their mental health. The event gathered around 40 professionals from different systems: juvenile justice judges and prosecutors, police officers, professionals working in centres for social welfare and juvenile justice institutions, representatives of the Institute for mental health, the Institute for criminological and sociological research, the Child Rights Council of the Government of Serbia and of relevant ministries.
