The first meeting of the Working group for drafting the Model Protocol for the prevention and protection of children and youth from violence in sports was held on 23 July 2013 in Belgrade. The Working group was formed by the Child Rights Centre within the project “Prevention and Protection of Children from Violence in Sports”, which is funded by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia through the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) program.
The first meeting was held with the aim of introducing members of the Working group to each other, exchange of experiences and information relevant for the drafting the Model Protocol and making of operational agreements related to future work.
The Working group meeting was attended by: Ma Dragan Atanasov, Biljana Lajović, Olivera Zečević, Daniel Korica,PhD, Zoran Sretenović, M.Eng. Nenad Manojlović, Ivana Stevanović,PhD, Marija Petrović and Milena Golić.
Milena Golić informed the participants of the meeting about the detailed steps and planed project activities. Marija Petrovic presented the starting basic platform for drafting of the document to the members of the Working group, while Ivana Stevanović presented the General protocol for the protection of children from abuse and neglect on which the Model Protocol will be based.
In order to promote a comprehensive action for the prevention and protection of children and youth from violence in sports, all members of the Working group agreed that the Model Protocol should be drafted in a way that will define the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in this area and that will provide mechanisms for co-operation with institutions from different systems.
