Initial meetings with the cross-sectoral teams for the protection of children from abuse and neglect of Aleksinac, Svrljig, Knjazevac, Zajecar, Kraljevo, Trstenik, Paracin and Vrnjacka Banja held

Whitin the project “Increasing inter-sectoral cooperation in the protection of children from violence,” which the Child Rights Centre implements in cooperation with UNICEF, during November and December initial meetings with the cross-sectoral teams for the protection of children from abuse and neglect of Aleksinac, Svrljig, Knjazevac, Zajecar, Kraljevo, Trstenik, Paracin and Vrnjacka Banja were held.

The meetings discussed the responsibilities of different sectors (education, health, social protection, police, judiciary, NGOs, representatives of local authorities) in the protection of children from violence, challenges in inter-sector cooperation and further ways of working on the establishment and improvement of intersectoral cooperation.

The meetings were attended by members of the inter-sectoral teams for the protection of children from abuse and neglect of Nis and Kragujevac, who have years of experience in inter-sectoral approach in dealing with cases of violence against children and who will provide peer support during the project, to the aforementioned intersectoral teams in the process of improving intersectoral collaboration.

This project is implemented as part of the project “Protection of children from violence and promotion of inclusion of children with disabilities in the Western Balkans and Turkey,” funded by the European Union and realised by UNICEF in partnership with Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
