Children and youth from the Club DX implemented a workshop with their peers – representatives of school parliaments from four schools in Uzice on 25 June 2019. This activity was implemented through an interactive workshop realised in cooperation with the Uzice Child Rights Centre.
This activity enabled children to get acquainted with the child friendly publication “IT IS ABOUT YOU – A book for children and youth to help them understand the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child”, rights of the child and child participation mechanisms at local level. Also, children were informed about mechanisms for protection of children from all forms of violence and the reporting process before the Lanzarot Committee. Thus children presented their report prepared with support of the Child Rights Centre in the context of the second round of monitoring of the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse in Serbia.
The activity was organised in the context of the project “Child Rights in Policy and Practice” implemented by the Child Rights Centre in partnership with the Save the Children International, funded by the Government of Sweden.
