The project is implemented by the Child Rights Centre in partnership with UNICEF Serbia and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia.

It aims to strengthen the protection of children and women in migration by improving the capacities of professionals working with these groups, with a particular focus on child protection, gender-based violence, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).

Serbia is a key transit country on the Balkan migration route, with a significant number of refugees and migrants, including children, who are highly vulnerable to violence, exploitation, and trafficking. Women and girls face additional risks of gender-based violence, while limited services and insufficiently trained professionals further weaken protection systems.

The project develops and accredits two training packages on child protection and GBV in migration contexts, including PSEA. It includes training of trainers, facilitation and technical trainings, management workshops, and an online course to ensure sustainable capacity building.

Overall, the project contributes to strengthening systemic responses and improving the protection of the most vulnerable groups – children and women in migration.
