We are pleased to present the publication “Children in Action: Stories Transforming the Digital Space”, a collection of good practices developed during the implementation of the project “Adolescents in Action – Combating Digital Violence”, supported by the European child rights network Eurochild through the DaphneCHILD Subgranting Programme. The project aimed to prevent digital violence and promote children’s safety and protection in the digital environment.
This publication is the final outcome of the joint efforts of children, teachers, school counsellors, schools, and partner organizations, who demonstrated through a wide range of activities that the digital space can serve as a place for learning, creativity, collaboration, and the realization of children’s rights. It brings together inspiring examples of activities implemented in schools and local communities, as well as experiences that can inspire everyone seeking to develop participatory and innovative approaches to working with children in order to prevent digital violence and promote children’s online safety.
Throughout the project, children were not merely participants but active creators of the activities. Through workshops, awareness-raising campaigns, peer education, and joint initiatives with teachers and local communities, they strengthened their digital competencies, critical thinking, and the skills necessary for safe and responsible participation in the digital world. Their voices, ideas, and initiatives became the driving force behind the many positive changes documented in this publication.
We believe that this collection of good practices will serve as a valuable resource for schools, civil society organizations, professionals, and everyone working with children by providing practical examples of how collaborative efforts can contribute to building safer and more inclusive digital communities.
