Delegation of the Republic of Serbia presented the Second and third periodic report on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child at the 74th session of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child held on 24 January 2017 in Geneva.

The Office for Human and Minority Rights of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the UNICEF office in Belgrade has organised live streaming for children and youth from the Children’s informative cultural service of the Child Rights Centre in Belgrade, children and young people from the Youth club of Uzice Child Rights Centre and children and young activists of the program of the Society for the development of children and Youth – Open club from Nis. Children and young people from these three groups have formerly prepared a “Report on the Rights of the Child in the Republic of Serbia from the Perspective of Children and Youth”. The main findings of this report are incorporated in the above mentioned State report.

With the support of Save the Children, representatives of the Child Rights Centre attended the presentation of the report at the session held in Geneva. Whether and to what extent the child rights realised in in the Republic of Serbia, the Committee on the Rights of the Child will present in its Concluding Observations, and in its future activities the Child Rights Centre will continue to monitor the implementation of recommendations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child addressed to the Republic of Serbia.
