WORKSHOP FOR GATHERING ATTITUDES AND OPINIONS OF CHILDREN IN THE PROCESS OF DRAFTING THE NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR CHILDREN WAS HELD IN NOVI SAD

A workshop “Gathering attitudes and opinions of children in the process of drafting the national action plan for children”, organized in partnership of the Protector of Citizens – Ombudsman of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Child Rights Centre was held in Novi Sad on 3 November 2018, with participation of pupils, members of student parliaments.

Through specially designed workshops, children were able to express their attitudes and opinions on possible ways of improving their lives in Serbia. Topics discussed were related to improving quality of protection of children from all forms of violence and discrimination children’s health care, potential opportunities that the National Action Plan for Children would create and which would further contribute to a better way of implementing children leisure time through cultural, educational and recreational activities. Participants of the workshop were pupils from the following elementary schools: ”Đura Jakšić” Kać, “Miroslav Antić” Futog, “Đura Daničić” and “Petefi Šandor” Novi Sad, as well as pupils from high school “Svetozar Marković”, and dormitory “Brankovo Kolo”.

All the above mentioned activities are supported in the context of the project “Child Rights in Policy and Practice” implemented by the Child Rights Centre in partnership with the Save the Children International, funded by the Government of Sweden.
