Announcement of the new National Action Plan for Children by end of 2019

13.02.2019.

The Child Rights Centre is pleased that the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia announced the beginning of work on the new National Action Plan for Children, after the meeting that Minister Mr. Zoran Djordjevic had with UNICEF Representative Ms. Regina de Dominicis and child rights expert Ms. Najat Maalla M’jid from Morocco. It was announced that the new National Action Plan would be adopted by the end of 2019. This was also the recommendation of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child to Serbia in its concluding observations given in February 2017. This action plan should serve as a basis for effective budgeting and monitoring of respective policies for children, and should be supported with sufficient human, technical and financial resources for its proper implementation. The process of adoption of the action plan should ensure that consultations are held with all relevant stakeholders, including children.
