At the suggestion of UNICEF and the Child Rights Centre, the Ministry of Health has organized additional public commenting session regarding the Draft law on the protection of patients’ rights and the Draft law on the protection of persons with mental disabilities that has been focused on commenting these two proposed legislations from the perspective of child rights. Public discussion was held on 5 December 2012.
The discussion was opened by the Minister of Health Dr Slavica Djukic Dejanovic and director of UNICEF office in Serbia Judita Reichenberg. Public debate was attended by members of the working group for drafting the Laws Radmila Ivanek, counselor to the Minister and Assistant Minister Slavka Lakicevic, who presented the draft laws. This was followed by discussion moderated by Dr. Ivana Stevanovic, president of the Child Rights Centre and Dr. Perisa Simonovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Health.
