Training to empower members of the Club for Healthy Changes held

10.10.2017.

On 8 October 2014 a training to empower members of the Club for Healthy Changes was held. Training is a part of activities of the project Empowering children/young people with disabilities to improve responses to Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) implemented by Lumos Foundation in partnership with the Child Rights Centre and funded by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR). Training was facilitated by Shaun Webster and Katherine Carter with the support of Philipa Bragman from the CHANGE organisation from UK.

The main aim of the training was to develop self-confidence and skills of children and young people with disabilities as co-trainers at the trainings planned by the project, intended for professionals from various systems. Also, the training was directed to sharing experience by the representatives of the organisation CHANGE, which promotes participation of persons with disabilities in designing concepts and implementing education for professionals. During the training topics of discussion were also the importance and various ways of communication, creation of trust and significance of a mediator in communication with children with disabilities.
